Our grandmother/great-grandmother Ruby was our inspiration for this business. When we think of lovely vintage things, we think of her era. A time when she lived. It was her time. She had a relatively short life, passing away at the young age of 53 from breast cancer. She never got to leave the hospital to go and live in the brand new home her husband, Nate, had just built for them. Ruby’s daughter shares the story of how sad it was to see fabric still in the package that her mother had bought and intended to sew for curtains to hang in their new home. She never got to see those pretties hung up.
We love pretty things too. As a mother/daughter team, we take great joy in the time we spend together doing what we love.
We feel strongly that we carry a piece of our grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers and fathers with us wherever we go in our lives. Even to just have a piece of furniture that brings memories of times past, can link generations together. Malachi 4:5-6 says “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.”
We hope you will enjoy one of our vintage pieces to be a part of your special day!
